From the most significant viticultural regions of Greece – Drama

The story of this Greek winery can be traced back to 1993, when Yiannis Papadopoulos, a civil engineer and wine lover, planted a small family vineyard. The wine was made in an underground cellar in Mikrochori, in the city of Drama. Some years later, his friend and fellow wine lover Yiannis Kalaitzidis, architect and engineer, came on board of the project. While they started making wines with international grapes as Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot, the duo started growing with great success also Greek varietals such as Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Agiorgitiko and Xinomavro. In 2009 Akis Papadopoulos – son of Yiannis returned from Bordeaux, where he conducted his studies on oenology, and took over as chief oenologist after his father.
